“Ocean in view! O! The joy!”
I’m curious who recognizes this quote. I’ll put the answer at the end, but my son reminded me of it today as we pulled up to the ocean.
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it!
Do you not fear me? declares the LORD. Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
I’m often reminded when we are at the ocean just how small we are! And those waves keep coming and coming and coming. But they only come so far. (See above Jer. 5:22) What an amazing Creator we have!
And the quote is from William Clark upon finally seeing what they thought was the Pacific Ocean along with the other members of the Corps of Discovery on November 7, 1805.
Let me know if you guessed correctly!
And share what in creation causes you to be in awe of the Creator!
